What is the gl diet and how does it work?

Will I gain weight if going onto a GL diet?
I was diagnosed with Ceilac disease as a child. As an adult I have not taken care of my body. Eat anything...drink beer...ect. I have always had issues.... but nothing I couldn't manage. My fiance found out and has gone on a bender. In doing so, I have read up bit and have become extremely concerned about my future health. Long story short I am currently on a GF diet. I am a 26F 5'3 175lbs. Both my sisters rail thin 5'7 105 110lbs. I have always been odd gal out. My question is, I have heard conflicting reports. Will I gain or loose weight going on a GF diet? Could my excessive weight be a result of the disease?Thanks
